Most people today are… Trying this and that. Dabbling here and there. But no one is talking about it. Which leaves most of us with unconventional career paths feeling isolated and alone. As if there is something wrong with us. But I’m here to tell you that while the world may never validate or appreciate your unique career path or mine, I will. Always.

When I started sharing the truth about the mess behind my organized LinkedIn profile, I was worried about getting that real. Two bachelor's degrees that almost no one has — Psychology and English. 18 months as a preschool teacher that still doesn’t fit with everything else I have accomplished. A master’s degree that has a few too many syllables: Industrial and Organizational Psychology. And leaving a successful corporate career after nearly 10 years and a big promotion.
But you know what? So many people reached out to share how much they appreciated that I showed all the messy bits of my career path. Because, their paths also looked unconventional and were considered unfocused. Step by step, I have made my own way. It hasn’t always been easy but it has become easier.
